Master story-teller, Vinod Kumar Shukla, brings to us a very moving short story of a man who wants to live in a house with a tree. The house he had rented now had a karanj tree. It’s leaves and flowers would fly into his house as the wind blew away its fragrance. One day, the owner asked him to vacate the house. He looked and looked for another house with a tree. Now fewer and fewer houses could accommodate a tree. Seasoned illustrator, Taposhi Ghoshal, has created beautiful illustrations in water-colour. With such few colours, she can bring to life all beings that live together the tree, the house and pigeons. Through illustrations, she not only creates a calm and serene mood of the book, she also adds a sense of maturity to it.
